EVER WONDERED WHAT BEING A TEENAGER WAS LIKE IN 80’S, 70’S, 60’S, 50’S…
Where Are You From? is a unique project exploring teenage culture throughout the 20th and 21st Century through film, media, performance and more...
‘Where are you from? Our Teenage Years’ is a partnership project between Peshkar and Great Places Housing funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Since January 2015 we have been working with schools, colleges and communities to gather stories from the Teenage Lives of people in Oldham and Burnley from the 1950’s up to the present day.
Young people from these areas have taken part in creative workshops and training in oral history along the way to help us collect the information and share what they have learnt.
We have learnt all about music, films, how our towns have changed over the years, how teenagers have seen themselves over the years and so much more, all of which can be seen in the films we have produced which can be seen below.
You can also see those stories, thoughts and reminiscences in a special exhibition at the People’s History Museum – Engine Room – from the 18 September till the 15 October* (*Please check the PHM website for exact opening times / dates)
