In June, Peshkar artists Steph, Rabhia and Adriana enjoyed two days of fun workshops at Springbrook Lower Academy in Oldham. Springbrook is part of the New Bridge Academy Trust and offers alternative provision for children of primary school age who are not able to access mainstream provision.
We were invited to deliver two days of fun drama and art activity and to help the children achieve a Discover Arts Award, all with the theme of ‘Spies and Gadgets’. The children took part in a spy school workshop with Steph on the first day where they created spy character for themselves and took part in a series of challenges to try and crack an important mission. They then worked with Rabhia to create a gadget that they had invented to help them solve their case. On day two they then worked with Adriana to turn these stories into comic stip-style animations that told their special spy stories. It was a really fun couple of days and we are looking forward to visiting in September to present the Arts Award certificates to the children.
