Arts Award Success With Drama & Digital1 min read

On 4th March, 28 young people had their work assessed for the Arts Award qualifications in our first moderation session of the year. This group were a combination of Bronze Arts Awards from our Waterhead Academy Electives group and young people who came to us to complete their Silver Award from the Making Tracks project at our friends TiPP in Manchester.

Our Bronze Electives students are all aged between 11 and 14 and have been working on drama projects exploring the theme of ‘radical’ since September 2018. They have worked with Peshkar artists Pedro, Amy, Claire, Fay and Steph to develop new pieces of drama, develop leadership skills and think about who inspires them in the world of the arts. Thanks to our brilliant facilitators for all their hard work in helping these young people succeed.

Silver Arts Award-ers Zee, Dan and Joe came to us in September 2018 after completing their Bronze Awards with the Making Tracks project. All three of the lads are MCs and interested in making and sharing their own rap music with the world. Rooted in their communities, they create music that shows how passionate they are about their local area and the people within it.

They worked with Steph to reflect on their progress, think about their career paths and create a podcast that reflects their journeys.
